Do I need to clean up after my horse or dog on the trails?

The answer is yes. As of July 1st, 2003 if you use the horse trails, be aware of the pooper scooper laws. You must clean up after your animal be that horse or dog. Carry plastic bags and a scooper with you. Read the City of Newport Beach ordinance. Be a good neighbor.

How does the Code Enforcement Process Work ?

Once you file a complaint and a case number has been assigned, Code Enforcement will investigate the violation. If in fact one does exist, the owner of the site is given a Notice Of Code Violation. If corrective action is not completed in a timely manner, the City of Newport Beach has the option of issuing a Civil Citation, a Criminal Citation, or filing a complaint with the District Attorney.

What Are Some Examples of Code Enforcement Code Violations ?

Fire Hazards such as dead shrubs, trees, combustible waste. Storage of trailers, campers, or motor vehicles on vacant property or front yards is also a violation. Broken or discarded furniture stored in front of or on side yards visible from the street also qualifies. Unsafe building and other structures or repairing or adding structures without plans or permits.

What Does PAC Stand for & What is its Purpose?

PAC stands for: Project Advisory Committee. We are a committee appointed by the Board of Supervisors to "advise" on issues pertaining to the Santa Ana Hts. Redevelopment District. Though we have no actual governing power, we do advise the County and the City of Newport Beach on issues facing our neighborhoods and on ways to improve our area with our allotted budget.

How are PAC Members Chosen to Serve?

If you live in the Santa Ana Hts. Redevelopment District you can fill out an application to become a PAC Member. Contact Tim Stoaks by email for an application . Once you have filled out an application, it will remain on file with the County until an appropriate opening is available, If you are selected, The Board of Supervisors will have to vote on your appointment.

How Do I get an Item on the PAC Agenda?

If you have an issue you think we should be looking at, you can just email Tim our Webmaster or come to the next PAC meeting and present your idea in 3 minutes or less when the floor is open for Public Comments.
