At the June 2003 PAC meeting Hank Lozano from the consulting firm SP2 made a presentation of plans to improve this street.
Proposal A: Is a total re-construction of the street. It will provide sidewalks and a total build out of the street along with parking for homeowners. This does encroach on some private property. A 30 foot street dedication is required. There is a turn around requirement and that would impact the residents at the culdi-sac at the end of the street. This also addresses drainage concerns on the street. When the street is build out, storm drains would need to be built.
This proposal would require some homeowners to dedicate some property to the County for this project. The County is not interested in enforcing eminent domain in the area. The estimate is $200,000.
If folks don’t dedicate property the project does not move forward.Eminent domain can be used by the County but not by the RA. The County feels that in this is a direct benefit to the homeowners and not the County so this does not meet the legal criteria. There is a possibility the County maybe able to do based on health and safety issues. Mark Esslinger said that he would have to run this by County Council once again re this issue.

The 2nd proposal B, does not include sidewalks
The 3rd C proposal is the same as above but the culdi sac is flopped and pulled further towards Orchard.
Dave Kiff will take these plans to the City of NB and work with them as well.
