There is nothing more exciting than going on an exotic vacation to Hawaii. As much as you would love to stay forever, it is probably just not possible. However, you can bring the islands home with you through a bedroom makeover. Create the look and feel of Hawaii in your home with special accents like shells, art, and Hawaiian tropical bedding.

When you are in Hawaii, you should keep your eyes peeled for attractive trinkets. When you get home you can use the trinkets as part of your Hawaiian makeover. If your island theme spills out of your bedroom, and into the rest of your home, the trinkets can be used as a talking point the next time you are entertaining.

The best place to start your bedroom makeover is your walls. You need to think of your walls as blank canvas. There are so many things you can do with them. If you can find a wallpaper that reminds you of Hawaii, by all means paper the bedroom walls. If you aren't satisfied with the wallpaper selections, you should paint your walls. You will want to choose a color that gives you the same sense of peace you experienced during you vacation.

Make sure you choose bright Hawaiian bedding that reminds you of tropical landscapes. You could use a graphic floral print or a subtle ocean life pattern. Whatever you choose, make sure that it gives you the calming effect that you experienced on your trip to the islands. You should also make sure it doesn't clash with the wall color.

One of the great things about having visited in Hawaii is that you will be able to use photos that you took in your bedroom makeover. These photos will be completely unique to you. After choosing your favorite photos you can arrange them in a grouping that shows off your artwork. Shadowboxes are also fun for displaying photos and souvenirs

You could display postcards, dried flowers, or special shells that remind you of your trip to Hawaii. Some people collect shells as they walk by the ocean and if that is something you enjoy, display your collection is a set of glass jars or vases. You could also hang posters displaying Hawaiian landscape.
